ITEM OF THE WEEK

So each week i have decided i am going to post an item of clothing that i am loving at the moment, and try and get a few different versions of it so you can have options, everyone loves options! I am going to include links on the website names so it is easier for you to buy them online and plus it will keep my blog to the usual look book style!

Okay, so the item i am liking this week is the bodycon skirts with the chiffon draped over it, i love the ones that are shorter at the front and gradually get longer at the back, i like this one from LOVE, and this one also from LOVE, and finally this one from Dorothy Perkins.

The Granny Cardigan

So, I realize i haven't done a post in the last couple of days, that is down to the simple fact that i haven't been near a computer in the last couple of days and haven't been wearing anything exciting.

Today was meant to be a shopping day for holiday clothes as i am going to tenerife on friday with my best friend and her family, uberrr excited for that! But it is rainy and miserable today so decided to try and fit it in sometime tomorrow!

Results day thursday! ARRGGGHHHHHHHH @:~?;/;#'['/.;L@@';@:'##!!!

Anyway, back to fashion, i decided to make my own shorts yesterday, i've been meaning to do this for a while now but only just got round to it, i realize there are many shorts exactly the same but i thought why pay for them when i can do them for free? So i got a pair of my dads Levi jeans (he has about ten pairs of the same jeans, oh and he is quite small as you may be wondering how i can fit in his jeans!) and me and my mum cut them to the length i wanted and washed and dried them and they frayed nicely.

As for my necklaces, i bought the cross pendant from a gothic/hippy shop in whitby for £14 as it is real silver and i bought the string/rope thing separately, my other necklace (the shorter one) is from a little shop in newquay called razzmatazz (not sure on the spelling) which i LOVE! I think i am going to do a separate post soonish all on this one necklace, but basically, the metal is like a shell and it opens at the top and it comes with all different colour stones that match the shape of the pendant which you can swap around to match any outfit, also it came with a braclet which you can attach it to but i preferred it as a necklace so i bought the string separately.

My top is from zara, i bought this a while ago so i doubt it is shops now. I liked it because of the panelling on the sides which make it different from the normal vest.

And now for the main thing, the cardigan, you cant really see it on these pictures but i am pretty sure you will end up seeing this ALOT as i wear it all the time, i just love it, it is so warm and cosy, i bought is from a vintage store in york called DEEP (i think there is one in middlesborough too) the clothes are so cheap and so lovely, i got this thick cardigan for only £11, so it is definitely worth a look. Not all the clothes are vintage as they have to keep up with the ever changing fashions so some stuff is made by them, but i definitely recommend it!

WOW, this was a long post, well done if you managed to read it all!

Newquay 2011

These photos pretty much some up my past week. As you have probably already guessed the last                                                    couple of days have involved me travelling for 10 hours down to newquay (thanks to my fathers lovely wrong turn) and getting thrown of surf boards all week in an attempt to catch a wave, oh and of course eating plenty of medium-rare steaks!
The rings with the stones in are from the blogger LLYMLRS, whose blog i rather love. They were sooooo cheap and i love that they are adjustable so you can wear them on any finger. I also got another one as it was a bulk buy deal, but i don’t have it on.
As for the blog, i'm trying to find some new ideas as to what to put into it to make it more interesting, i am definatley including the fashion diary, but i need some more ideas so feel free to contribute!
  • Skirt, Vintage
  • Top, Newquay (sorry i cant remember the name of the shop but if your ever in newquay you will find one easily)
  • Rings, LLYMLRS.

Mugshot.

This is me, like it or lump it. My name is Melissa Render, nicknamed MISSY, i am 16 years of age and finally decided to make a blog, it has been a thought of mine for quite a while now so i have decided to get my bum into gear and do it. The blog is basically going to be a diary of my life, a LOOK BOOK, and everything in between. Oh and i have a tumblr account too but its basically the same as this but feel free to check it out, just click on the photo and it will take you there, i hope. There are many reasons why i am starting this blog , one being because i feel it is somewhere i can just express myself to people and just let off some steam, however, the main reason i have started it is because i love ART and FASHION and i love mixing the two. In the future i would love to be a fashion designer or in the fashion industry, at the moment i am just about to start my A-Levels which is basically the first stepping stone to achieving that goal, this blog being the second stone. Anyway, i am ranting now, hope you enjoy what's yet to come.
